Looking to install Granite Countertops in my kitchen. Do you pick out the granite from a supplier first and then look for installer? TIA

Can do it either way. The suppliers can recommend an installer, or you can start with an installer and go pick from their suppliers. If you have a budget, best to get an installer first as the suppliers won’t help you on pricing.

When I priced it in the BR area, I ended up using StoneWorks out of MS. Picked the stone in BR.

Where are you going with your granite as far as how high end and how complicated your kitchen layout is. I have 2 ways we do granite: option 1 high end custom I have an account with triton and we pick out the granite and have a very good more expensive fabricator/ installer that does the work, option 2 we pick from 10-15 colors of prefab granite from another supplier and have a installer that does well with this less difficult work, still does excellent job, but is less expensive. If you can get hooked up with the right people you will find granite really isn’t as expensive as people say it is, unless you pick crazy granite

It’s for a rental so def not high end. It’s a small kitchen. Who do you recommend for the prefab granite/installation?

Do not use Nola Imports. They are likely going to have a better price than anyone but their installers are inexperienced and once they screw up your stone you can undo it.

I used the stone gallery in the river ridge area for my home. They drive you around a yard, you pick out your slab and the prices are in the slab. You are on your own with installers but I asked for a recommendation and they recommended a guy named Giovanni calderini. He did awesome work and I was really happy. Pretty sure we did our whole kitchen and both bathrooms (small Home) for less than 5k installed. A few friends used triton stone and didn’t like how they did business with not telling you a price till after an installer looks at your area.

We were pleased with the Stone Gallery's effort to assist us in discussing our options in redoing our fireplace hearth in granite.

We ultimately went with Intrepid which was a mistake - they sent out two younger fellas who ended up cutting the stone too short and it left a small gap between the stone and the wall. Long process of getting that sorted out and remedied and Intrepid was not very apologetic.

Looking for a 4' section of prefab granite for a small outdoor wet bar with an undermount sink. Who do you recommend for the prefab supplier and installer?

I’ve used DL in the east for the cheap pre-fab for rentals. They provide a list of installers. I’ve used Henry but he installs cabinets as well so is booked up a few weeks at times. Ibrehim at jerusalem stone has done some installs for me recently. Both charge the same. 200 a slab to polish and mount. 200 for kitchen sink cutouts 150 for bathroom sinks. Both do a good job and are easy to work with.
