He's staying. Dude's about to get a free condo and be able to eat for life there.

Terrible take by me. Even if Kawhi decides to bolt. The FO still made a great trade as it atleast got them at least a game away if not in the finals.

And just having him already in Toronto, increased their odds of landing him long term. The gamble may or may not pay off, but it was a smart gamble.

I thought it was pretty well known he would go to the Clippers with Toronto having a chance to keep him.

Only way he goes to the Lakers is if they trade LeBron for somebody like AD or Paul George or someone he can play with. And get some competent leadership.

I think Kawhi stands a better chance of staying with Toronto of the lose now instead of a 4-1 defeat to the Warriors.

What's there to talk about after this?
If you guys really want to make a good bet, make it when the red season ends.

Y’all think Kawhi cuts a slit between his legs and joins the warriors if he loses to them in the finals? AKA doing the KD?

Imagine if Durant closed out the warriors instead of collapsing and won a ring against LeBron.

Man what a legacy shift

I think it's TOR or LAC with TOR being the favorite. Raptors org seems to fit him pretty well

If Kawhi decides to resign with the Raptors, he basically would have left $30 million on the table just to spite the Spurs. It just doesn't make much sense. OTOH, he's going to get the same contract in free agency if he leaves the Raptors than he would have if he left the Spurs. It's going to take winning the championship for the Raptors to have a shot at resigning him and even that might not be enough.

They got a good young roster littered with key veterans with cap and room for a star player or two. Good owner, FO, and coach, compare that to that shitshow that is the Lakers

You're right, all of that and it's still not a done deal that they get any star free agent.

If it were the Lakers that had the good organization we'd say a star free agent signing is already a done deal. They're obviously well run right now and still can't get a star to come there of his own free will.
