I remember being a kid and always waiting for his personal scorecard and thoughts on HBO boxing. One of the main reasons why I loved watching boxing with my father. He will be missed dearly. #frickCancer

Whether you agreed with him or not, it was always fun to get his input.

Every other boxing telecast now is a far, far second compared to HBO's old crew and production.

It really takes away not having them around anymore. The halcyon days of Larry Merchant, Lampley, Emmanuel Steward, and Lederman won't be topped as far as new providers go.

The best HBO crew was Lampley Merchant and Lederman

When they brought the 4th in seemed too busy but still good

Lederman was usually spot on with the real judge

Rest In Peace, Harold Lederman. There are very few old school boxing guys who are still with us. Lederman was an iconic figure in boxing television history.

The thing is, you respected his opinion more than the actual judges.

You'd ask after the fight, "why didn't they have it like Lederman?"

Watching the last canelo fight, Brian Kenny was literally questioning Chris Mannix' in game score card, saying it was hard for him to both watch and analyze the fight and score it at the smwe time... It was extremely bizarre why he would openly criticize his broadcast partner like that.

The HBO crew always made it a point to point out Lederman's score and how they thought it was kind of the measuring stick.

Old school boxing guys like Merchant, and Lederman, and Burt Sugar were always the best.
