Any recommendations for a mid 30's guy with a mid 60's dad. Both reasonably active, interested in outdoors etc.
Any experiences to share?

Maybe thinking cabin in CO, NM or some mountain range that might have flyfishing.

With or without guide perhaps? Just want good scenery, food, etc.

Disregard cost. Must be domestic. 3-4 day trip. Nothing in the south(already overexposed to the south).

You may want to look into the Boundary Waters up in Northern Minnesota, fantastic canoeing and the scenery is amazing, granted the mountains aren't like Colorado or New Mexico, but really nice.

There is some good fly fishing to be had around Ruidoso, NM with cabins and mountains that were really nice when I was there around 3 years ago.

Idaho-underated for fly fishing

Wyoming, Montana, etc for fishing and western scenary.

New England-Fishing and lobster, good beer and scenery.

Research the off-road trail from Telluride to Ouray, called Imogene Pass. The area is just unreal beautiful and it seems like a great father son trip. Tons of history.

You can rent a vehicle out there. There are hikes up to high country lakes outside of T-ride that you can fish in. Both Silver and Blue lakes are names to research.

Tons of waterfalls for rest days, and a super cool town to kick around in.

Was going to suggest Ouray. That whole area is fantastic.

I would think some back country guided pack trip in the mountains out west would be cool. They can get pricey with the amenities, but the scenery is unmatched

Traverse City Michigan. Fishing. Hiking. Wineries. Amazing beaches. Big Bear dunes.

Also the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Got it all.

It is in Canada but this is a top of the line place worth the extra effort required to get there.

We flew into MSP, caught a ride to the smaller airport where they picked us up in a King Air. The pike and walleye fishing was nothing like Lake Verret back in the day. The web page does not over-sell it in my opinion.

great suggestions so far yall, keep em coming.
so far i like the idea of Canadian trip the best with the scenery, fishing and not having to cook. Maybe imogene pass second.

if i hadn't already done the olympic peninsula this summer that'd be up there too. our 5 days there was epic.
