I don't know if it's irrational. It's definitely "sexier" to say you're a star for the Lakers rather than Clippers. Same with Knicks/Nets, Cubs/White Sox, Giants/Jets. They're definitely the lesser organization right now though

While true, you'd be a legend if you won it for the clippers though.

Lakers have the history, but unless Lebron becomes Miami heat version defensively they won't ever win.

The clippers land a star, I wouldn't bet against the logo to win within 5 years.

The Lakers just shutdown Ball too. Are they tanking to try and land a top 2 and get back in this thing??

Tanking won’t do much to help them at this end of the season.

At best they MIGHT fall below some teams like Dallas if they’re extremely lucky.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted, other teams having strong offers is what the Pels need to get what they want. This may not impact the final outcome in the end, but it certainly doesn't help

100% agree. The Lakers set a very high floor for an AD trade this summer. Now it's up in the air. At this point, the new brass needs to be careful not to run teams away from the table and/or play hardball like they did over the summer. Because I think the whole thing could destabilize quickly.

But also the BI news, while sad for him, further confirms that it was good to wait to trade AD.

Yea not trading then is even more justified than it already was, but I feel we really need the Lakers to have an "in tact" kitchen sink offer that all the other suitors know they need to beat.

How long until we find out that Lakers knew about this before the trade deadline?

Well I would hope they wouldn't hide a life threatening condition and continue to play him for weeks after the deadline.
