Hope he can recover enough to play in the Super Bowl. Would hate for him to him to have to watch from the sidelines in a Super Bowl again. He was on the Patriots SB winning team in 04 but got hurt early in the season and was on IR.

How do you avoid surgery for appendicitis? I thought it it gets infected it has to come out.

Research shows that not having surgery is a very good option but you hardly ever see it in america. You stay in the hospital longer with surgery, recovery is longer. Recurrent appendicitis without surgery happens about 5% of the time if I recall correctly.

he is a solid contributor but his backup will do just fine filling in, the man isnt in his prime so its not like he was a star starter for us.

he is playing out his last year before retiring so i really hope he can be ready to play in the SB and go out with a TD catch, he has earned nothing less

Tough break for him & the team. Not the way he wants to end a career. Hill has to step up & the jack-of-trades, Hill, can play some TE.

Watson is a great person and this is unfortunate timing for him, but it’s not like he’s a game changer so it could be worse.

He only averaged less than 2 catches per game in 16 games this season.

Watson is essentially the backup at this point.

Hill has played 146 more snaps than Watson and is 4th behind Brees, Thomas and Kamara in snaps for offensive players, excluding the OL. Hill has played 70% of the snaps the last 5 games. This hasnt been Watson's gig for awhile

In general, you always take it out. With his case, by treating with antibiotics, he will get better and avoid surgery in the short term, and can then have an interval appendectomy in 6 weeks. This scenario, he would be able to play in the super bowl. If he were to have it removed now, playing a game 2.5 weeks later would be unlikely.

It would suck for him if he misses his last game.

exactly... probably the only reason they're going the antibiotic route with Watson is to give him any kind of opportunity to play in the Super Bowl should the Saints win Sunday
