You haven't been around many female officers. Many of them are EXTREMELY self-conscious and get very nervous speaking in front of a group. It takes them a while to get comfortable with it, if they ever do.

Several - Air Force ones to be specific, just like Danvers.

"Nervous" was never an impression I got from the Captains or the Colonel that I knew.

Katheryn Winnick wouldve been perfect as Captain Marvel, but lost out cause of age.

You see it a lot more clearly when they're your peer as opposed to your superior.

This casting “issue” is pretty comical, given Marvel Studios track record.

Who knows maybe Feige has lost his touch...or the Internet is jumping to conclusions.

If there's a weak spot in Marvel's track record it's in the casting of their first couple of superheroines. Scarjo has been fairly boring as Black Widow (when she's not in an actual fight). The Olsen non-twin as Scarlet Witch is pretty bad as well. They hit it out of the park with Gamora, Nebula, and Wasp.

It's one of the main similarities between the Marvel Studios Universe and the Silver Age Marvel Comics. Stan and Jack were great at creating female heroes. But when it came to their performing as characters, Stan was at a loss.

ScarJo has been pretty great as Black Widow, given her lack of material.

Olsen’s accent have been discused ad nauseam, but she emotes as well as any in Infinity War.

Both of these women have their lead projects coming, so I’m fairly confident they’ll be great.

But that’s besides the point, their protagonists have all knocked it out of the park.

Lack of material? While she hasn't been the focus, she's been on screen almost as much as some of the main characters. Honestly, she's pretty bland since her first role in IM2.

No. Just no. It's the same emotion/acting as with her brother and crying through the Ultron fight. Just replace her brother with Vision and Ultron fight with Wakanda. Same shite.

War machine had to be recast. Ruffalo is a really bad hulk but gets a pass because he's mostly the hulk and isn't asked to do anything other than set up funny dialogue for Thor and/or Tony. Just to name a couple of males with the females.

I think you are off base on Scarjo and Olsen, but agree that Ruffalo’s whining is starting to get to me.

Rhodes recasting had nothing to do with performance. Ruffalo...can’t star in a solo Hulk film,so again an unfair criticism..but is a GREAT Hulk-he does the freaking mo cap very well. Norton was pretty good, better than Bana.

Widow, Wanda, Banner, Rhodey, Barton...all secondary characters at the moment. The primary MCU protagnists are Stark, Rogers, Thor, Quill, Parker, T’Challa,Strange, Lang, Thanos and soon to be Danvers.

When ScarJo and Wanda have their own vehicles then we can talk. None of those actors have had the lead role in any MCU film.

And yes the Wanda Vision scenes were excellent in both Civil War and Infinity War..probably why they are getting a miniseries on Disney+

True but it could have if we are being honest.

Unfair? How? Even if he doesn’t have his own film, he’s a main character in this. That’s not debatable. And that isn’t an excuse for him and the character they’ve made him to be.

Widow and Banner are primaries regardless of their missing solo movies.

The point I was trying to make is that the MCU casting isn’t perfect. It’s great! Seriously, I believe that. All of the ones you’ve mentioned as primaries have been home runs. That’s not easy. And props. I was only playing a little devils advocate because there has been a miss or two imo.

Didn't know whether to start a new thread or bump this one, but that spot during the game was hot garbage. Brie can't act for shite.
