Just started squatting on a regular basis about 3 weeks ago. Curious on every ones opinion on the pros and cons of each. One better than the other?

Box squats should be used to improve your back squat

Not as a primary exercise.

Depends on your goals. It's great for explosive energy.

I personally love them. Hatfield, back, ssb, and front squats are goat.

Do both as they both serve different purposes

But box squats will help improve your regular squats

Also if you want to get really fricking strong all while improving mobility and depth start front squatting

Box squats are great but if he just started he needs to be doing back squats with high frequency to grease the movement pattern

IMO, just do back squats and cycle in pause squats from time to time. Once you are done with LP, your program should include front squats.

If you ever do box squats, seek out some coaching - even if it's via the internet. People frick up box squats all the time.
