Can anyone recommend a good place to buy a flounder gigging light? I'm looking for one of those hand held ones where the light is on a pole that is underwater and is attached to a battery in a backpack. I want an LED one, not the old school ones.

TIA

You could make one although that’s not the answer you want. We have about 20 at the camp that are all home made. FWIW you don’t need a battery that is so large it requires a back pack.

I power my homemade LED flounder gigging light with 8 AA batteries that's about the size of a pack of cigarettes.

Amazon 8AA 12 volt battery case

Saw this one at the NOLA boat show few months ago and it looked pretty legit.

Which color light did you go with? You carry your battery in a backpack?

Dual regular light or dual SMD light?

Standard double natural light. I bought it a couple years back before he offered the SMD model. I would probably still go with the standard today if I had to do it over again. I put the battery in a small back pack that I also attach my stringer to.

Yeah I'm debating which is better. SMD vs standard. Brighter vs longer battery life

Back when I gigged on foot I used the light from academy and a rechargeable deer feeder battery.

12v5ah battery

Mine runs off one of these. Not the exact battery in link but same kind. I think its the same as the rechargeable deer feeder bat.

You won’t find a better light than Jerry’s LED. Really lights it up underwater.
