I own some Amazon stock. My only fear is that they get too big and are broken up with an antitrust lawsuit.

I just don't see how they could meet the legal standard for there to even be a case to pursue. They don't even have a majority of the market share of e-commerce (let alone all commerce), and it's basically one big marketplace for both buyers and sellers. They do have a majority of the market share in cloud services, but that's a rapidly growing area anyways and Google, Microsoft, etc. aren't some weak competitors that they can squash.

Even then there is a lot more than just being huge and dominant tonmeetwthe antitrust standards.

I'm just curious what they have planned for HQ2 and where it's going to be--especially since I live in a finalist location.

It was painful for a little while, but today is the day.

Throughout Feb and March I sold other positions and redeployed into Amazon.

Now I am debating cashing out a large portion of that position and rediversifying the portfolio.

looks like a bunch of people are taking profits.
I don't have enough shares to lay that game, in it for the long run.

The Alexa isn't always "listening" The in device technology is only capable of recognizing the wake word which activates the device to listen/record. This was done on purpose as a privacy measure The only time long term recording is done, which requires Amazon's cloud, is after you wake your Alexa.

This received downvotes

I had to make sure I wasn’t on the poli board or something.

I've been a Prime user since 2008 (according to Amazon). With that said, in light of the announced fee increase, I'm going to have a hard time justifying renewing at the end of the year. With expanded offers of free shipping from other retailers, most major libraries offering free e-book loans, and competition from Hulu/Netflix/HBO/Starz in the streaming arena, $120 a year is a bit steep.

I can't imagine I'm the only person that will be seriously considering how much I want to stay invested in the Amazon ecosystem.

Most people will be too lazy to look into alternatives and by the time they start thinking about it, auto-renewal would have already hit

I disagree. Prime just makes it so easy. I don’t have to go to target for some things and another retailer for other things. We use amazon for everything and Shipt for groceries and cleaning supplies.

How many of those things would Walmart ship you for free? Is what is left worth $120 a year?
