Would Bartlett Pear and Orient Pear Trees be a good privacy screen?

I know they're not evergreens but would they be a decent privacy screen from spring thru fall if I plant them close enough? I'm looking for something that grows pretty fast and about 20-30 feet tall to hide a nearby building.

Do you see those growing there. Both say down to zone 8. I have no knowledge of this-just what I have googled,

Yea, I see a lot of people with them and they're sold here too.

There are a bunch of the Bartlett pears here around Memphis. I notice a lot of broken branches in them after semi-heavy winds. I won't have one because of that.

Do you have heavy winds? If so a Bartlett or Bradford Pear is not for you unless you enjoy warm strolls in the rain picking up branches and admiring a tree that has half the trunk missing when the limbs broke off.

Point well-received

My tree guy said the one of the absolute worst trees to plant in south Louisiana is a Bartlett/Bradford pear. They apparently snap like toothpicks in a stiff breeze.

At least Bartlett gets you fruit. Bradford gets you nothing.

Aren't pear trees deciduous? If so, the privacy in lacking in winter.

Holly trees are a better alternative. Quick growing, evergreen.

Screw a Bradford Pear. Worthless as a Water Oak.
