The comic flip of relevant material is before any marvel property. It's just branding and TM stuff.

MCU now has enough material to do it's own intro outside the comic flip so that'll be the branding for now.

I don't think carnage is going to be in this though (maybe an appearance at the end). I thought in this movie there are people trying to replicate the venom symbiote. This created phage, scream, agony, riot, and lasher.

What's killing me is I know I saw it the day I watched disaster artist, it was just the symbiote attaching at the cell level and I can't find it on the web.

So I'm either mandela effected here or I was drinking and a fake promo got tied in with "honey this is all you need to know about the room" and an Honest Trailers rabbit hole.
