Dow goes negative, giving up Friday bounce; heads for worst week in 9 years

Worst week in 9 years everyone! How great is this?!

2:25 pm

Dow rebounds 400 points Friday, still down 5% for the week

Dow bounces more than 300 points Friday, but still posts worst week in 2 years

It’s like they actively root for people to lose money in spite of Trump.

It’s a shame they couldn’t write a story about it being the worst week since the Great Recession and had to settle for worst week since that time in 2016 under Obama when growth was lackluster, consumer confidence was low, and wage growth was flat.

That’s not as catchy and nobody remembers that though.

Well this is quite a snowflake complaint over an accurate description of the stock market.

If it was a snowflake complaint I’d demand the writers and editor to be fired and allege that this is what the Nazis did to control people.

They can melt all they want, I just found it funny and thought I’d share.

I can absolutely guarantee you that CNBC's commentary about market loses has been the same for 30 years.

I eas expecting a really negative headline, or one that is trying to make unsupported claims of blame for the stock market (like the tax cuts caused it).

Instead it was just an accurate description of a crazy week in the market, one that many argue is a good thing in the long run.

So complaining about that seemed awfully snowflaky.

Worst week in 9 years is a pretty big deal and a sign that times are changing. What would you prefer these headlines to say? Something just pumps more sunshine up your you know what?

Did you Trumpkins think this stock market rally would just continue in a straight line for 4 years?

Not but liberals thought the market and economy would crash and burn after Trump was elected. Quite the opposite has occurred.

Well, these are the same people that claim that a reduction in the amount of increase given to a department in any given year is considered a cut!

I don't think they were actively rooting for it, more or less letting people know where the Dow currently is in relation to this year and this bull run. Hell, this has been one of the worst weeks for the S&P all time.

This is more stupid and uninformed than usual for this board. CNBC is essentially apolitical, though they do regularly have Larry Kudlow on and give him free rein to pump @real's policies. They have someone like Tom Steyer on a lot less, who is the closest thing to a counterpart I can think of. You're melting, because like all @realists, you're incredibly insecure and always looking for a fight, and you conjured one out of some accurate headlines which are the sorts of headlines CNBC has always run.

Nope,, but not worried, this is a correction. Fundamentals are very strong, and thanks to Trump hundreds of billions of dollars are being repatriated back into the US Economy with the tax reform.

I just find it entertaining that up until 8 days ago, democrats were saying this was Obama's economy, and not Trumps.. Only in last 8 days have democrats washed their hands and said it is Trumps..

This shite is weak.

That being said, this week should be a reminder to Trump to stop pimping the market and focus on GDP numbers. He has no control over the market, but GDP is more in his wheelhouse.

At least you didn't generalize. That would have made you look lazy and ignorant.
