Weird... My image of the page isn't showing up.

If I had my way...this would be impossible. I think a duly seated Oversight Committee should have whatever they ask to see in their hands in 48 hours or someone (the person in responsible charge at ___) should be marched IMMEDIATELY to jail or they must immediately resign. They can choose either.

EXACTLY!

They are working for the taxpayers and report to Congress. You and I cannot just tell the FBI, "you will get what I decide to give you and nothing more"......not sure how that would play out.

I can think of one of 2 reasons why it is being withheld, 1) there is an ongoing investigation and it is being held close to the chest or 2) obstruction by guilty parties...

Exactly.

Its like the FBI does not understand that congress has direct oversight over them. Congress should ask for certain records and if not submitted timely have the Marshals arrest them. Congress needs to show some balls and put some people in jail.

Can we go ahead and admit that our FBI was either politically compromised or grossly incompetent or both?

An awesome source of actual news not reported by your CNN!

They list the page, the footnote, and link to the PDF.

FRICK YOU if you don't like it.

Well, the Oversight Committee folks hold the same Clearances.....and, you know...they are OVERSIGHT.

Boss: BHP, I want to see the status report this afternoon.

BHP: Nope..it is an ongoing calculation / assessment. You aren't allowed to see it until it is finished

Boss: Well, gee...I guess I just will have to wait...

Some people still fail to understand how it works.

After Hoover and what they did to people like MLK, the oversight was put in place a check to their power.

And forfeit any and all compensation (salary and benefits) that can be recovered.. If you are not going to do your job, you do not deserve taxpayers monies....

So the question is: Why won't Congress exercise their legal authority over the FBI?

A logical conclusion would be that the FBI has dirt on those who have oversight authority.

They are the FBI, NOT the Gestapo or the Stasi, and Congress needs to show them the difference. They have the power, but not the spine.

I have been told by my Progressive counterparts that if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to be worried about. Wonder how they feel about this?

Congress should defund the FBI. They oversight responsibilities and control over budget.
