Lots of uncertainty with who will be the coordinators next year. How bad do you think this will help land the needed players for our last few spots?

It’s only 4 spots left. We will be fine there.

Why would you expect him to stay? If Aranda leaves for A&M, he will be given full autonomy and allowed to hire staff - Raymond would be my first call if I were him.

Then we have rumors that FSU are considering bringing him in to be DC.

I'll honestly be surprised if he is here on signing day

And could be one of the reasons for these $ grabs.

I mean, why not?

Make LSU pay, one way or the other.

If Aranda leaves - Corey needs to be promoted to DC

For the kids, this is kind of where it sucks to sign on the early day. Wonder how many of our players would prefer to be playing under Aranda.

Kinda a big risk to take.

Raymond has never called plays.

And we rely heavily on our Coordinators for Xs and Os.

Our fans just look for reasons, any reason, to cry chicken little.

Such a doom and gloom personality by so many. Just sad.

I think the fact Jimbo Fisher and A&M made a big play for Aranda and didn’t get him can only help with the defensive recruits we were after. It raises Aranda’s stature.

Along the same lines, I think it’s a big swing and a miss for Fisher and the Aggies. Whoever they get for dc will be a second choice at best.

Agreed. Plus Aranda has a much bigger buyout. Locked up long-term.

actually aggies first choice wasn't Aranda. It was Pruitt but, UT fricked that up.

I pondered the same thing. There was a downside to such offers. And that downside was accentuated by this being the 2nd LSU DC in a row. The first was considered a success at LSU, average at TAMU. It plants the seed something is up at the school, and maybe all-in on DC means misses on position coaches, which recruits should consider. Name over substance.

We have both, Aranda and Raymond. On the defensive side, CEO's name doesn't hurt. I guess our selling point is that we're not a "one name show, from top to bottom our staff has defensive coaches". I'd use it.
