I am trying to decide between the Paris or NY,NY. Any suggestions or thoughts on these two?
Depends what you’re looking to do. Neither hotel is a 5 star resort, but they aren’t dumps, so id have no problem staying in either place. Paris is a bit more lively with more stuff to do on the property. Paris is in a better location, as it’s closer to the flamingo/lv blvd intersection. The only problem is it’s still a bit of a walk to the nicer resorts such as cosmo, aria, caesars.
Ny ny is smaller than Paris (not necessarily a bad thing), and in a less prime location. Two of it’s neighbors are Tropicana and Excalibur which are both garbage. There is, however, an extremely convenient bridge from ny ny directly to mgm, and the walk is very short. So, if you plan on doing you’re partying at mgm, ny ny is a very viable option.
If you’re staying at Paris and need to leave the hotel to find some action, it’s a much longer trek than it would be from ny ny to mgm.

Last stayed at the Aria. Pool was up to your armpits in homos.
Best looking women were at The Cosmopolitan. I could sit in the lobby and salivate all day.
Been to the Bellagio twice. Nice place but not on the scale of the previously mentioned.
I've heard good things from a guy at work who goes quite a few times a year and his favorite is the Wynn.

The Wynn is the best, but it is pricey...
Love Flamingo because of its location and I always enjoy gambling there...
Aria is ok but not easy to walk anywhere because it is so far from the road.

I've stayed at the Wynn, NYNY, and Caesar's recently. I've been to restuarants or casinos in just about all the majors on the strip. Wynn is first class. Very classy and traditional, and the rooms are large, and the bathroom is amazing. I will be staying at the Encore for the first time this coming New Year's.
NY NY is a great hotel for families, it has an amazing arcade, the roller coaster, and a Hershey's store on site. Like another posted mentioned, there is also a bridge that will bring you right to the front door of the MGM. The rooms are a good size, and there is plenty to do downstairs.
Caesar's is great, but the rooms can feel a little dated. I like it just because it's what I think about when I think of Vegas. The forum shops are nice, but the property is very spread out depending on what tower you are in.
Bellagio is a great location, but it has become dated as well. The lobby decorations are beautiful, especially around Christmas time. I was in Paris briefly this summer, and it seemed on par, maybe slightly below NYNY, but I can't speak for the actual rooms.
I have been spoiled by the Wynn, and expect the same from Encore. If it is just me and the wife we stay at the Wynn, and if we bring the kids we stay at NYNY. Just my $.02

I stayed at MGM in 2012, my room was nice enough, I had no complaints. The two nicest by far were Encore and Palazzo. Although not as upscale, I really like the LINQ. Newer, lots of room, and the property is centrally located, convenient to everything.

Stayed at the Encore for a work event last month for a week and have zero complaints.

I always care about location more than anything else. Im never in the room and Ive never had a bad room anywhere. That being said, I like staying at Planet Hollywood. The rooms are cheap, they are nice enough, and you are right in the middle of everything.

Got back from my first trip to Vegas last week. We went for my brothers wedding at the Venetian, but we stayed at Harrahs. Harrahs has brand new completely renovated rooms, as well as old nasty rooms that you would probably walk in and walk right back out. Ask for a room in the newly updated tower.
I'd recommend Harrahs as well for the price and location. No, it's not the fanciest or nicest, but we barely spent any time there anyway. Also, get the monorail pass. Takes you up and down the strip for about 20$ for a 3 day pass.

Second this. Stayed at the Encore for work and it was awesome. I think it was only like $180 a night too.
