Anybody have any experience with or personal knowledge of Young Entrepreneurs Across America and/or Student Painters?
I know a student thinking about becoming a branch manager.

Is that a blue collar version of Teach America?

Knew a guy who was the branch manager of one of those banks in a grocery store. Doubt he was pulling down the same cash as a real bank manager.

Every painter I know (as in people who paint houses and shite) has a drug problem.

I'm looking to join the local Engineers without Borders Chapter, but it's full of academia types who have no idea how to design working, real-world designs.
The last project I heard they were working on was trying to bring fresh water to some coastal African town. They currently carried it from another town that has a freshwater pipeline.

I have no idea about these organizations. Typically these kind of things will work naive students to death for an effective wage less than minimum wage though.

What the frick does a manager of entrepreneurs do?
Aren't entrepreneurs, by definition, looking to manage themselves?

I looked into this out of curiosity. It seems as they have branch managers who try attract business and then other students who just paint. The organization will take a huge cut. Just have the kid start his own business rather than have some useless "training" company take his money.

Just wanted to see if any one had any experience or personal knowledge about it.

I don't remember the name of the company but the summer after my freshman year of college I worked with one of these outfits.
A friend of a friend was the "boss" and he would supervise the site and drum up new business. Three of us would paint the trim around windows, doors, and roofs. None of us had any experience but learned on the job pretty quick.
We got paid on time but the boss quit finding new business and drank beers at the pool with college girls all day while we painted. We were pissed when we found out he was playing grabass while we were sweating our balls off in the NC heat painting houses. The operation folded soon after.
If the student you know is money hungry and a hard worker I'd recommend Southwest Advantage, the book selling company that recruits on college campuses.

If it's anything like the "opportunity" that came by ASU when I was in undergrad, run away. I walked out 2 minutes into their sham presentation. My friend decided, "it'll build my resume". He proceeded to paint houses for minimum wage without rent in California. He spent more money than made, and wasted a summer doing something that had no relevance at all to anything. He didn't even get a lesson from a house painter.
