Questions about NYC

Yes I've searched BUT I'm trying to find some different things to do with my daughter when we return to NYC over Mardi Gras. I've tried searching and keep getting off track so thought I'd just ask.
She wants to go to the original Jack Torres candy store in Brooklyn -- what else is there to do there?
She'd also like to go to a comedy club -- she will be 16. Are there any that are appropriate or are they all pretty much ok? I've never been to one myself.
We've done all of the really big things other than the Empire State Building and not many museums -- she hates them but I told her we have to! So the Fashion Institute Museum and the Anne Frank Center are the likely ones she'll be interested in. We literally ran through the Met the last time we were there.
I'm sad that there are no ballets or performances at Radio City (saw the Rockettes last summer).

Oh yeah ... that's already a given and I should have said that. Show each night -- as we're wanting to see pretty much everything, we'll probably go to the TKTS booth and get tickets there.
Saw Something Rotten and Aladdin last time we were there ... she wants to see Something Rotten again but I'm not paying AGAIN for that as we need to see something else and I CAN'T pay for Hamilton!!!

As far as comedy clubs, I've only been to ones where the comics get pretty raunchy.

While in Brooklyn, you could take her to the Superhero Supply Store .
Also, check out On Location Vacations if she's interested in watching TV shows and/or movies being filmed. That site is updated daily.

Soray that I can't add anything about shows... but I can say something about Jacques Torres. I did this a lot when friends visited me in NYC.
Go to Brooklyn.
Have lunch at grimaldi's pizza.
Walk to Jacques Torres (less than 10 minutes walk).
Buy some chocolate and a hot chocolate.
Walk back to NYC across the Brooklyn Bridge.
That was always one of my favorite afternoons. It is a great view of the NYC skyline, and Jacques Torres hot chocolates are crazy rich.
Go to Brooklyn.

Agree that the Museum of Natural History can be a good choice for a teen....she's probably seen Night at the Museum, and it's easy to like the gemstones and minerals, plus the planetarium. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and take a water taxi back to Midtown, nice views and an inexpensive ride with a different perspective.
Big Onions walking tours are interesting...esp the MultiEthnic Tour of the lower East Side. It's a history of immigration to the neighborhood, punctuated by stops at food shops representing the various ethnic waves to populate the area. We sampled everything from pickles to fees mozzarella and gelato to Chinese candies and pickled fruit. Tour guides are generally history grad students.

We did stop at the Jack Torres in Manhattan -- all I remember I THINK is that it was near Bloomingdales?? I know she flipped out over the cookie, the chocolate bar AND the sample of hot chocolate that they gave us (it was summer) was beyond rich and yummy. She wanted JT chocolate for Christmas -- I told her we'd get it in person!!
eta: we registered for Jimmy Fallon monologue rehearsal tickets but as of now we're on the waitlist. She's a drama/theater student so if we can get those that'd be a big deal for her.

Brooklyn Bridge Park has a ton of stuff to see and has some of the best views of Manhattan. Definitely walk the bridge back into Manhattan. While in Brooklyn, you could grab a bite at River Cafe or Vinegar Hill House, both are great.

We saw White Rabbit, Red Rabbit a few months ago because we wanted to see something a little different. It was decent, but I'm glad we got deeply discounted tickets at TKTS. If we had paid full price for it, I would have been pissed.

double decker buses are good for touristy stuff
Take her to serendipity 3 for desert. prepare for a wait, but she will like it if she likes sweets

Go to Pio Pio Peruvian restaurant. Some of the best food I've ever had. The ceviche was outstanding.
