Forgive me if the topic has been discussed. I didnt see the theaterical cut and just wondered if anyone had seen this version if they were in the camp that made them think it was a better film.

I thought it was a good movie not great. I thought the uttering of a moms name was a silly resolution to the pivotal battle but enjoyed it overall. It is like right at three hours. For me the best part of film was Batman taking on the goons to save Supes mom the fight scene.

Anyone seen it?

Pretty much my consensus. The theatrical cut was terrible, IMO. There were major story elements missing that made the movie feel incomplete. The action sequences were fantastic. I really feel like Snyder has a talent for creating some breathtakingly beautiful and epic action. I kind of wish we could have gotten more of it, though. I thought the story was OK, not great. And at least in the UC it made sense, . In the TC it was almost completely nonsensical at times.

I had some major problems with the handling of Superman at times. I feel like there were times he fit the mold, sacrificing himself multiple times. Then there were times I was mindblown by some of his choices. Mainly just before and at the begining of the Batman fight. He was inconsistent. At times I felt like he was used strictly as a plot device for Batman. But again, there were times he did resemble the Superman I want to see.

Watched the ultimate edition today on the intewebs, and while I did enjoy the original version, this just blows it away. Like many have said, it explains all the crap that didnt make sense in the original version.

Its amazing that Snyder needed 3 hours to tell the actual story that he was intending.

I watched the UC last night. I never saw it in theaters and went in with low expectations, but I thought it was a pretty good movie. Much better than Man of Steel. Of course I don't like several things Snyder did, Hans Zimmer's soundtrack left a lot to be desired, and Eisenberg was awful.

There's an Ultimate Cut BluRay coming out on the 19th. It has both versions of the movie.

The ultimate cut is the 3hr one correct?

Watched it yesterday kind of half assedly and didn't really notice anything different besides the villain at the end messing with lex. What other scenes were added?

Watched the Ultimate Cut last night. Much, much better film.

If you hated the premise and the third reel then don't bother, but the Ultimate Cut fleshes out so much of the plot and motivation, even better than the Director's Cut of Watchmen.

It appears that when they cut for time, they left Batman and Wonder Woman's scenes intact and jettisoned the Clark Kent scenes and most of the scenes that map out the conspiracy.

Awesome added scenes surrounding the initial attack in the desert (including the "Jimmy Olsen" scene which would've been a great fake-out if I hadn't have known about it prior... My wife's reaction was, "Wow, that wasn't Jimmy Olsen!")

Great scenes with Clark investigating Batman, and the woman paid to put the blame on Superman, what happened with the Bat-branded criminal between his arrest and when Clark gets the Polaroids...

The only added WTF scene is the Steppenwolf reveal with Lex. That really looks like an Easter Egg or end credits teaser that was forced into the cut. Other than that, everything works.

I watched it last night. Much better film. While it did not fix the misstep of Eisenberg being cast, it set up his maneuverings better and explained why Batman and Superman would have the opinions they did against each other. It was a much stronger film.

The Martha scene is still bad. They should have had him say save Martha, then kind fo dron of with a "Kent". Then have him actually say, my mother, Martha, save her from Lex. I think that would have humaized him to Batman and been more effective.

Also, at the beginning of the Superman/Batman battle, Superman tosses Batman back. He should have just gone up to him and explained everything. Let Batman throw sonic booms and crap at him. Just get in his face and talk. Of course then you do not have the epic battle. Still did not liek the alien bug things (not a comic book reader), or the dream sequences with the Flash.

And I still do not understand why Cavill plays Superman so smug. Having watched the Man from U.N.C.L.E. , he has the charisma to play Superman more compassionately and witty. He is just a smug, dour bastard.

He comes across as less dour in the Ultimate Cut, since we see the additional scenes where he is more concerned than depressed. But yeah, we could use a lot more of the Man from U.N.C.L.E. Cavill in these Superman/Clark scenes. In the few scenes where we get a smile or a quip, you can see that he's capable of giving us a fun Superman.

I put the blame totally on Snyder's direction.

I bought it at midnight Monday/Tuesday and watched it when I got it home.

I didn't think the original was bad really, but I liked the Ultimate Edition.

However, I'm not saying it's a great film or anything, but it entertains me throughout which is what I think the ultimate goal of a superhero flick is supposed to be.

Watched it while home sick.

I liked BvS, but acknowledged it's flaws.

This was a vast improvement, but also demonstrates this could have been two movies (at least).
