Deichmann being looked at to possibly move to the outfield

Latz had a "medical setback" not related to his arm. Will be late to summer ball

Mainieri was very vague and non-descriptive but mentioned Latz had a (non-throwing arm related) medial setback? Whatever it may be, that's unfortunate for a guy who has had one unfortunate setback after another. Hopefully whatever that could be clears up fast and he gets to go to summer ball fairly quickly.

I like that he's looking at Deichmann for a corner outfield position. It seems like a more natural fit.

With the HIPPA privacy law he probably can't say much else without subjecting himself and LSU to possible legal issues.

No doubt. I don't blame him and I didn't expect more info. Just weird, but I guess he wanted to clear up that it wasn't his arm to keep the freak out to a minimum.

put him in right, move bryce to 1B, romero at DH, and Duplantis at CF.

This is what I think will happen, but Nick Coomes and Cody Ducote may put a change into things. Maybe even one of the freshmen.

Cody Ducote

31 PAs in summer ball (Southern Cal League)

.462/.512/.692, 2 Dbl, 2 Trp, 6 RBI, 4 BB, 3 K

.500 BABIP, so unsustainable, but also speaks to the quality of contact he's making.

We'll have to see what summer ball does, but I have a large feeling that Brody Wofford and Brennan Breaux will be tried out in the outfield as well. Remember Beau Jordan only got like 6 hits his freshman year and then hit .285 as a sophomore starting in 65 games. There's a lot of growth that happens after that first season, so should get a good gauge on their abilities Breaux is going to the Cape and Wofford to NWL. I saw Breaux play a bunch in HS. He was better than Lochridge and Duplantis. And I love Brody wofford's swing. Being stacked next year is defintley a great problem to have.
