We always placed in igloo with plenty of ice. Drained off water everyday. I've iced them for a week, no problems. What do you do with your deer and hogs after skinning?

Eat them. That or de-bone them and put them in the freezer. I never leave them in the icechest for more than 2-3 days.

Place in the cooler until it's time to put it on ice to go to the processor. Usually only a couple of days.

I don't clean hogs but I bleed a deer in the chest for 3-4 days

I hang them in a cooler for a few days depending on how big/old the animal is. Never let them touch ice or water and then freeze in vacuum sealed bags or eat.
You'll find there are wildly differing opinions and every single one of them is the only way to do it.

Leave in cooler sometimes, hang in walkin cooler for a couple or mores days sometimes. Much easier to process after hanging in cooler.
