It's time for the Nick Toon pain train

I suppose, but Toon is a Colston prototype- a big-bodied possession receiver. Morgan is the "stretch the field" deep threat burner. I don't think we have anyone ready for that particular need. Stills has the speed but he's very raw.

Unless another speedster steps up in camp, we may have to run different packages.

ETA: Sorry. Looks like you guys covered this already.

I figured something like this was the case when they brought in Robinson. First timers Toon and Stills are going to need to step up big for us. Good thing is that I think they will.

Or maybe even Saalim Hakim. He's another speedster in the mold of Morgan. He's inexperienced but 6'2", 195 lbs and runs a low 4.3 which could replace Morgan's ability to stretch the field.

If Stills is healthy then he is the ideal candidate to take the spot of Morgan.

Also, not sure where you got that he was 6'2" from. He is smaller than Stills on the official roster.

Harry, you might want to research a bit before talky. A meniscus is not a tendon. It is a rubbery (no not actual rubber) disc needed more for cushion and to balance the knee. In most cases surgery is not needed and the majority of surgeries do not repair the meniscus but just clean it up so it doesn't interfere with normal range of motion. In severe cases the tear will impede the knee from working correctly.

Saints waived/injured WR Chris Givens.
Givens missed the entire 2012 season with an undisclosed injury after impressing in last year's spring workouts, so he'll spend another year on injured reserve. The former Miami Redhawk is a possession receiver at 6-foot-2, 211. The Saints also cut K Jose Maltos.

I told them to turn injuries off before the preseason. But no, don't listen to me.

Saints WR Joe Morgan needs a second opinion on the knee he injured in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage.
Beat writer Mike Triplett wrote "it's possible that he could be back within a few weeks and play in a preseason game or two," suggesting Morgan is looking at a lengthy absence.

for a second, I thought that was wrestling commentator Jim Ross in the background of that pic with Kenny Stills throwing a block.

don't think so though.

You love his aggressiveness, but he just cost the Saints two receivers. You should save the aggressiveness for preseason and regular season games. But I still thought the Saints were deep enough at receiver by the way they were talkin. Kinda surprised they signed Breaston.

Jim Ross is a huge, huge Sooner fan. He used to come on sports radio in Houston and talk about OU football and other sports. I have no idea what he looks like, but I know he's on the sideline for OU games.
