On the flip side, would those coaches and front office people have become what they are today without that experience?

Can someone tell me why the Browns moved in the first place? These delusional people go to every game and buy tons of merch.

How was it a monetary move?

Cleveland wouldn't build the Browns a stadium. They paid for a new stadium for the Indians and not for the Browns, and the luxury boxes are where the money is. Modell said build me a stadium or I'll move the team. Cleveland thought he was bluffing.

He wasn't.

Jacobs Field pretty much cost Cleveland the Browns. And then they built a new stadium as part of a deal to get a new team. Cleveland was promised the Browns back literally two days later. Cleveland was out of a team for 48 hours. They aren't Seattle or Baltimore.

Browns fans jizz all over Cleveland Municipal, they probably liked the nostalgia of it all.

How much do teams make from luxury boxes?

I don't know the actual numbers, but a lot. Box holders have to buy a block of expensive tickets for all events plus there's the annual rent of the box, or whatever they call it. Plus the higher prices on services and food. Luxury boxes are a brilliant scam by teams.

I do feel a little bit sorry for Browns fans though. The team they got back in return has been complete dogshit over the last 14 years while the team they've lost and their biggest rival have each won two Super Bowls. As O's fans, we know how awful it is to root for a team that is bad for an extended period of time. The Browns are basically the football version of the O's. I sympathize with what they have had to gone through over that period of time.
