I've only heard good things, I will definitely be trying it. I certainly wouldn't expect a major wine following in the Bywater.

I too am curious with your thoughts on Sui Generis, I did some business with owner/chef. He was always trying to get me to try but I never made it. The menu sounds ultra eclectic.

See my earlier post re Sui. Its good - only drawback is that its located literally across the street from a great restaurant that is similar in food style and price. Definietly worth a try, especially if there's a long wait at Maurepas.
Disagree about wine in the Bywater - Bacchanal makes a killing with its wine sales, and a very nice wine shop just opened on St. Claude by the rr tracks - Fauborg Wines.

Been to the place once because it was open late. Didn't feel uncomfortable at all on a Saturday night in Bywater. Cool people out and about, and that whole area is improving.

Oh, and I really enjoyed the meal.

Very cool, thanks for the info. Everyone has good things to say about Bacchanal but I can just never amp myself up to want to drive over there and check it out. Maybe when the weather turns not shitty here in a couple months.

I used to hate Brussels sprouts, and then went years not even trying them. Last week I tried them at Maurepas and loved them. The sweet potatoes were tiny, and awesome too. I hear they change the menu often based on what's fresh on the local market; I will definitely go back.

Maurepas' menu changes weekly. Some items will last for awhile though; i.e., goat tacos, shrimp pot, cheese board. They strive on using fresh local foods, so the menu changes to reflect what's available. Sui and Booty's do the same thing.
