Clarify; do you mean SP's ego wants the distinction of being the highest paid coach or do you mean he just wants the money that comes along with it?

Either way it's speculation but at least if its the latter it would be logical because most humans want to amass wealth.

Whatever people may think, Cowboys are trending upward with legit shot at 10 wins & playoffs.

Even if they don't make it Jones is unlikely to buy out Garrett's deal, make Payton highest paid coach, deal with the headaches(Bensons threatened lawsuit) that would accompany Payton, when his team finished on a positive note.

The Saints are SP's creation. Too much love to leave. Brees is his. He's coming back.

SP could hold a press conference every day saying he plans on staying with the Saints, and some people on here would still bitch and say he's going to Dallas.

But...wait for it...he's NOT holding a press conference everyday saying he plans on staying with the Saints. He's not saying shite, and do you know why? I do.

He wants the Cowboys job. And if he's offered it, he's gone. If not, he'll be back.

It worked. Yay!!! When/If he signs a contract extension with the Saints, I will begin my self imposed 90 ban on that day.

"I absolutely plan on being a New Orleans Saint," Payton told Fox Sports Insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer, who spoke with the coach Sunday morning. "This is the franchise I helped rebuild from the ground up with (general manager) Mickey Loomis, with the Benson family. I love working for the Benson family and with Mickey Loomis. Obviously that's why that stipulation was in the contract."

I think he'll stay, but the only two reasons he would go are money and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, which are two pretty big reasons.
