I saw it this morning

It's pretty solid, but wasnt quite as scary as I thought it was going to be.

The 2nd act actually has more scares imo. The climax was pretty obvious

SPOILERS!

I'm really glad that the boogie man dude didnt have a lot of screen time and that he didnt talk. that would have ruined it. I kept hoping to myself that he wouldnt speak

This.. I saw it last night and walked away saying meh.

If you like "jumps" then this one is for you, my heart was pounding at times... It isn't the type of horror movie that really scares you long term.

If you like horror movies go see it, if you are so-so on them hold off, it is worth a watch though.

Just got back from it. It was alright.

I called the ending 10 minutes into the movie. You see it from miles away.

The plot revolved too much around typical horror movie behavior.

Definitely scared the shite out of me a few times.

just got back, wasn't as scary as i thought it was going to be but had some pretty freaky parts

SPOILERS

the kids being the killers took away a lot of the scare factor for me. i just dont find little kids scary. if the kids would have been the ones filming and "mr boogie" would have been the killer it would have been alot scarier IMO. that being said, the part where the little demon girl pops up right next to Ethan's head made me feel like a pussy...i pretty much jumped into my gf's lap

SPOILERS

I liked it. Having him vaguely in the background was very creepy. The problem with the kids being the murderers was that the ending was revealed 10 min in.

I thought it was great. Ethan Hawke was solid. I thought it was very tense from the beginning. It was much darker than your average "blockbuster" horror. It was a fun movie to see on the big screen.

I saw it last night. In my opinion it was not even remotely close to the previous movie Insidious in quality.

The potential was there, but for me it was very boring, and I love horror movies. I got bored after the 15th repeat of Hawke getting up when something went bump in the night and it was the same thing over and over.

In addition, it seems like they really went overboard with the dialogue between husband and wife, not many people go to a horror movie to listen to a wife chew out her husband over and over, I can get that at home.

My wife and I actually left the theater kind of mad that we paid money to go see it instead of Argo.

yea i agree that it was boring at times.

which is not something you want in a horror movie

Also, agreed with the dislike of the kids being killers. I kept hoping they werent but I just knew they were.

Thought it would have been better if the kids filmed

I really didn't think it was scary at all. It seemed like it had good buildup then...nothing. Even the "jumps" weren't that scary as you could see them coming from a mile away.

Ethan Hawke was pretty good though even if he was kinda offset by how shitty of an actor deputy so n so was

Going to see it tonight. I've avoided reading the spoilers in this thread (btw thanks yall for giving proper spoiler warnings)...did it meet expectations? From the non-spoiler stuff I read the end was predictable but still a good flick.
