Seems to be the general consensus that everybody in the history of sports television sucks

Funny, with as much discussion as they generate you would think they were performing their jobs well.

The only ones I can't stand are Gary Danielson and Verne Lundquist. Anyone could do better than them.

I noticed that everyone hates all announcers on here. It's kind of funny.

Kinda like how everyone thinks everyone else out there is a horrible driver. If we all think we're all horrible drivers then somebody is losing frickin ground here.

For every person someone hates, someone else loves them.

Also, without all the personnel at ESPN, how else do you fill up 24/7/365 sports coverage?

"Generating discussin" is not their job. Providing analysis is (or play by play or whatever). Being a professional internet troll, yet on TV, is not a resounding endorsement of their jobs.

My biggest problem with TV is not with individuals (though there are a few I loathe), it is institutional. I think the way ESPN uses its news division as a promotional department is a terrible breach of ethics that compromises everyone who works for the network, even the most conscientious and dutiful reporter.

I would be horrible. I tend to be too soft spoken and would lose my cool.

People here are 10000% better than the people on TV when it comes to the teams and players that they know well. When it comes to having to know every player and team, and having to be prepared to give an opinion on one of those things people here are 10000% worse.

Exactly.

The people at ESPN/FOX/CBS are pretty good at their jobs, regardless of what people think.
