A good comparison for this LSU baseball team is the Arkansas basketball team

Muss has always been portal heavy and had a nice run in the 23 tourney with several transfers. He went heavy in portal again along with a pretty talented high school recruiting class but they never gelled in 24 and went from preseason top 10 team to not making tourney.
LSU had a great transfer class and won it all in baseball in 23 but mixed another transfer class with a top recruiting class and it hasn't gelled.
In other words, the transfer portal is a slippery slope to navigate because you have to tell high school recruits to wait their turn when transfer players are coming in out of the portal and that mix can be volatile as players don't like being promised one thing and something totally different comes into play once they show up on campus.
It's gonne be like this every year in almost every sport going forward. You may be unstoppable one season and the next season crash and burn.
It's gonna drive these coaches crazy and some might end up leaving the profession altogether.

No it is not. Arky basketball hasn’t won squat

R-Kansas has only won 1 basketball championship, 30 years ago. Not an equal comparison at all.

Maybe it’s difficult to evaluate talent regardless of where you get it from and transfers are just getting more notice right now because it’s a new thing.

Mind telling us what promises are being broken, and to which players? Surely you know, to make this type of statement.
Or is it that you are being your typical dumbass self?

No, a good comparison would be the 2020 tiger football team, yes they had Covid to deal with, but they literally looked like they gave no shits and a lost a lot of leadership also from the previous year which were they won a title

“Nice run” and National Championship/one of the better college baseball teams ever are not the same thing

He’s referring more to the fact that Arky was in the elite 8 last year and had a top 5 recruiting class (HS & Portal) and then crashed and burned spectacularly this year.
Also that we obviously have some internal issues, though not from a gay love triangle.
There’s no excitement, no energy, lots of blank stares. There’s a lack of effort. Guys running balls out, general lack of hustle.

Sometimes players don’t work out. Wow, what insight. Alert the media.

LSU doesn't have 3 gay guys on its team

quote:I noticed that in the Vandy series, in the field. Vandy scored a couple of runs in the second game (the one we could have won, to take the series), on plays where I thought we had a shot at throwing them out. On one in particular, Pearson (I think) got it into Jones on a hit while Vandy had a runner on second. He came around to score, but I I thought Jones would have nailed him if he had a strong throw. But Jones caught the throw, and didn't even try to relay home, just stood there.

What's the mindset, if you don't even try to throw a runner out at the plate?

The OP is an idiot but you are too if you don’t think transfers are being promised things

Yeah, Arky basketball had serious internal issues that derailed the season. Not sure if that's the biggest issue here.
