Last night at Harris Teeter I got cash back and was hit with $0.75 for the privilege
never have had this happen before, but I’m assuming it will soon be the new normal
they so desperately want to turn us into a cashless society - brace yourselves…

Kroger did this to me as well a while back...
But Kroger and Harris Teeter are the same company... so I guess it's company policy now.

Yep, I miss Kroger (live in Bham) but it’s only a matter of time before Publix and Winn Dixie (Aldi) do the same thing

I think he means he put groceries on a card and asked for cash back, and they charged him.

Eh... I'm sure the only reason I noticed it is because the checkout girl asked me if I was okay with the charge. They've never asked before. To be fair, I think I've only done it like twice.
I was thinking... did you see how much the groceries cost? You think I'm worried about an additional few cents?

This strikes me as similar to an ATM fee.

Fani Willis won’t like this one bit.

Just wait until the tip screen pops up there

That’s exactly what it is. I think the card reader calls it a “convenience fee”.

Kroger did that a while ago. Now in there I always run my debit carts as credit. I heard it costs them more to process.

Ya’ll need to join a credit union.

Why would you not use a CC, that gives you points on purchases?
Go to the ATM for cash, and get with a Credit Union that refunds all ATM fees.
