If it's that bad just call a tile cleaning company and let them come in and blast it with their steamers and brushes.

Steam - either a steam mop or hire a guy for a little more.

Vinegar will get it clean, its not great for the grout if it is unsealed however.

Yes, vinegar will clean the dirty grout. Mix it with water 50/50.
For the black grout in the bathroom, I suggest Mold and Mildew Zep. Not the soap scum Zep. It works very well.

I used to use oxyclean and a toothbrush then reseal. It’s messy though. Now I use grout pens and seal right over it. Looks brand new.

This is what I did and would highly recommend.

I make a concoction of baking soda and vinegar. Apply it to the grout and let it sit for a few minutes then scrub it off with a toothbrush. Wait for it to dry and then reseal with the grout pen.

Works everytime

Half cup baking soda, half cup hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 teaspoon of dawn liquid.
Stir, place it on the grout, let sit 10 mins, brush off, wash off residue.

Years ago someone in a similar thread mentioned using toilet bowl cleaner (lysol brand i think). It was a blue or green gel that is applied to the grout lines. Easy to apply, let sit, then scrub with a small narrow brush. Check out youtube....there's before and after videos.

We tried it and it worked perfectly.

Good luck

Are you sealing the grout afterwards?
