Rigid Wet Dry Vac - 3 gallon / 5 peak HP mini review

I picked one of these up for the Depot last weekend. I’ve used it twice now.
The case is sturdy. The included crevice and brush tools stow away inside of a compartment. There is another compartment to stow away the 15 ft cord. This is my first time buying anything Rigid brand and I’m impressed.

i'll get roasted here, but i have all Ridgid 18v cordless tools. they have a battery warranty second to none. My first set is 12 years old and still holds a charge. None of the power tools have had any issues so far. I had two dewalts die within a year or two prior to buying the ridgid tools so that is why i made the change.

Ridgid is my go-to cordless drill as well. You can get great refurb deals on them as well at Direct Tool Outlet. (Same store that used to have a location in Tanger Outlets)

rigid makes great vacs for the price. Love my big 6 or 8 or whatever gallon it is. Recently been wanting a cordless vac and ProjectFarm on yotube makes a great case that rigid is the best option among the 18-20v crowd. Dewalt sucked arse and not in a good way. unfortunate because that is my cordless tool platform of choice.

I’m a Makita cordless guy and I have their vac. Not so great.

I've got the larger one. Think it's a 16 gal. It was like $60 on sale when I got it. I use it in my wood shop and never had an issue. Abused it for 3 years.
I have a much nicer Festool one for use with some of my tools. It's quiet, bluetooth activated, and I can adjust suction for finish sanding. But that's a bunch of detailed shite 99% of people won't care about. I go to the Rigid vac any time I'm doing anything not connected to a tool.

I have Milwaukee and Dewalt versions, both have pros and cons. I have a 14-gallon, 5-gallon and a 1-gallon corded shopvacs too. Even have a Home Depot bucket-vac head.

that youtube guy sure didn't show many pros with the dewalt. The wilwaulkee was right at the top with rigid though.
I think I'm going to try and get the ryobi vac and an adaptor to work with dewalt batteries. Haven't looked at one in person but from the pics it looks like adaptor+batt with still fit on the ryobi.

Testing vs real-word use on jobsites is not the same. Also Dewalt has 6 models, I have the DCV517 and the DCV581 (can be cordless and corded), and both pickup a bit of power when fitted with the larger batteries. Same with my Milwaukee vac, not just size in aH but cell type makes a difference with cordless tools.
