Or maybe the people that think the moon landings we're fake. There is always somebody that will make a statement just to get attention.

Why are people so surprised that people would claim that was fake?
It is getting harder and harder to differentiate between real and fake at this point, especially when it comes to video.
The video of dart striking the asteroid could easily be made via CGI. Our tech is becoming that good, not to mention that it is a camera striking a rock in space, which isn’t that graphically demanding.
Not saying it is fake, but it is far easier to be skeptical nowadays.

I would think that there would be some people who would think that the reasons for the Dart launch was fake. In other words, this was not a practice run to see if they could affect the course of an asteroid, this was the real thing.
The asteroid that was targeted was/ is actually heading for earth, and this was the only way that NASA could explain the launch.
