I get the oil changed every 6000-7000 miles. I've had no big problems with it since purchased it new. No motor issues, no transmission etc. What I'm wondering is if there are any maintenance issues I need to consider?

I have a 2013 with 165k. I just did the rear end fluid, front diff fluid, and tranny fluid myself. Everything looked fine surprisingly so was just for my piece of mind it seems. I also changed the rear shocks and front struts. Didn't realize how bad they were until I got new stuff in there.

One of the big issues is the timing chain stretching. You'd know if you had that problem but there isn't much to do about it ahead of time.

I have a 2012 with 207k miles. I just recently had to redo most of the AC as the condenser coil was leaking. By the time it was complete I also had to replace the condenser coil case, heater core, and all the actuators.

I also had to do the "transmission lead frame" repair last year. There is a TB for that one. I had too many miles or it would have been covered by Ford.

Only unusual thing i've noticed is when I fill up with gas and then attempt to start it, it takes its time for the ignition to "catch". Sometimes I have to try 3-4 times before it catches. Only happens when I fill up.

If it has a 3 valve 5.4L, you will be replacing that engine at some point. It will start dropping oil pressure. Poorly designed engine. They were penny pinching

2010 was the last year of the 5.4 in a F150

If you haven't replaced the alternator by now you will soon

I have a 2014 F150 with 159k. They usually need a water pump every 100k or so. Also, your lead frame on the tranny may very well go out before long.

Just read the manual and do all the stuff you haven't done yet.

194k isn't a stupidly high mileage on a modern vehicle. As someone else said it could probably use new coolant. Also, just change all the fluids, plan to do ball joints and tie rod ends and bearings and brakes and stuff over the next couple years. It'll be like a brand new truck.

Not poorly designed, just people need to stop believing OEM's with they use the phrase "adequate protection" with 5W20 oils and longer OCI's. Simply using good 10W30 in a 5.4L 3V is great way to cure a lot of the timing chain issues. There is now a high-volume, high-pressure oil pump available from Melling too, still wouldn't run less than a 5W30 though in any modular Ford engine. I use full synthetic 10W30 year round in both my Ford's without issue.

Purge control valve.

Don't "top off" your gas tank when you fill up after you've replaced the pcv.
