I think we see at least 5 portal commits in the next week or 2. Then maybe 3 HS guys on NSD.
We are at 17 right now, 8 more would put us at 25 for this class going into spring ball. We had 13 when we hired BK. Getting 12 guys in less than 2 months would be huge lol

I’m thinking 7-8 portal guys and then possibly 4 on NSD.

You’re probably right, we do have 7 visiting just over this week/weekend. I’m just adding a little more margin for error so as to not fall into another 5 for 5 trap

My understanding is you can sign 7 out of portal if you lose seven in the portal. If you lose 10 in portal you still only get to sign 7 out of portal.

You can use the 25 limit to add on more from the portal.

You can sign whatever you have to out of the portal the 7 only comes into effect when you have filled the max number of high school recruits you can sign for a given recruiting class or something to that effect

If you are eligible for the 7 they can be from high school or the portal. This post explains it well. If a team has 25 scholarships for this cycle and have at least 7 eligible transfers from their team they can sign 32 high school or 32 portal players or a mix of both. No limit of where the players come from.

by my guesstimate we have 5 for sure and 7 likely as it stands today:
4 who have transferred after Dec. 11th:
1. Jackson
2. Ricks
3. M. Johnson
4. Palmer
1 each NFL, w/eligibility (time served), who played in bowl game:
1. Ingram
2 each NFL, w/eligibility (time served), who didn't play in bowl game but am assuming were academically eligible:
1. Atkins
2. York

Deion Smith, Koy Moore, Bug Strong, Alex Adams, McGlothern to find homes (and be academically eligible) before May 1st.

Damone Clark graduated in December, so he would have been eligible. Atkins played in the bowl game.. plus he’s been on SEC Academic Honor Roll for 3 years straight.
So yeah I’m pretty sure we are already at 7 without counting York, Flott, Stingley, TDP, or any of the guys left in the portal.

If you lose 10, you can sign 10 transfers. Max number of HS and Transfers is 32. You pick how many of each, as long as the number of transfers in match transfers out.
LSU has had 10 transfer out by my count.

Oh and if people think kids are transferring from Bama just because they aren't starting, that's BS. Bama is pushing a lot of these kids out so they can qualify for the 7 additional transfer players.
