Suggestions for roadside fishing down toward either Shell Beach...

or Port Sulphur. Anyone have any specific recommendations? Just hoping to let my boy catch a few trout.
Also a suggestion for a place that sells live shrimp down toward either place would be helpful as well.

There are several spots you can fish on the road down to Hopedale. Hopedale Marina sells live shrimp. I am not sure you are going to catch many trout, if any.

Campos in Shell Beach has shrimp and you can fish at the end of the road by the Katrina memorial.

hwy 23 offers way more options especiallly with the river low.

If we get a hard freeze, you can catch redfish by the drawbridge on Florissant Hwy in Shell Beach but there will be 400 people and game wardens. Hwy 23 or Hwy 1 are your best bets for roadside fish.
