Their stadium holds like 41,000 and for their 10-1 team the last game drew 14,000. As I recall, their season attendance average was like 18,000+. I don’t know what’s going on over there but they have a lot bigger problems than worrying about who gets the LSU gig.
Bingo
They played in two ESPN nationally televised home game this year, and there were Louisiana high school playoff games this past week that had more attendance. That is a fact.
And only judging by the comments posted in this thread about what the radio hosts said, they are completely clueless on the landscape of big boy college football. Who’s opinion on Brian Kelly will I take, guys like Kirk Herbstreit and Barrett Sallee who cover the sport for a living? Or two Lafayette radio kids who think their knowledge of ULM and South Alabama gives them a good opinion on Notre Dame and SEC football?

They should be ULL Homer's, it is Lafayette. I work in Lafayette and there are a lot of LSU fans. But ULL is the home town team.

The only question after that diatribe…why do you care?

it would take a whole hell of a lot to go right for ULL to ever have a legit chance at making a NY6 bowl.
Yeah.
Like having Bama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Clemson on the schedule, beating them all, then going undefeated in the Sun Belt and winning the CG.
In short, a miracle that’ll never happen.

Breaking News: ULL hires Corey Raymond to replace Napier and piss off LSU fans.

I’ve never met a ULL fan IRL that hates LSU. It must be this crazy online group. I have definitely seen the Bama stickers in Lafayette on lifted baw trucks though

It seems like 50% of the few fans they have are completely out of touch with reality though.
So 9,000 people are out of touch.

USL is a afterthought to LSU. Y’all have zero to do with us. This is a LSU board also.

Yes, yes they were. And contrary to what they believe, the only people that support their school come from the Acadiana area. It’s not like people have to travel from out of town and stay overnight for the Cajun games. The trip from Eunice to Lafayette isn’t that far.
So their attendance was embarrassing. The other Sun Belt or MAC teams have much more in attendance for those midweek games.

I stream 104.5 BR because I can't listen to those guys. At 2 Jordy has a show that is all right. The rest are terrible. THEY HAVE HURT FEELINGS ABOUT EVERYTHING, EVERYDAY. That is their stich. It gets old and is hard to listen to.

Almost 500,000 people live in the metropolitan Lafayette area.. for them to draw only 14,000 fans for the last home game of the season when they are 10-1 is truly embarrassing for their program and should be very troubling to both their fan base and their administration
I don’t know but it kind of leads me to believe that not all was peachy with their fans and Napier or they have some other significant problem.

Didn’t know they had sports radio in Lafayette…

Wait, you haven't heard the 279 excuses they have?

You must not get out much. I worked with one and he was absolutely obsessed with a “rivalry” between LSU and U-Laf.
Claimed all kinds of outrageous things that LSU has supposedly done to U-Laf over the years.

Because it's the only sports station on my radio, and I enjoy listening to go sports talk shows while I drive. Is that ok?

Manufactured outrage in this thread. RP3 is not a Cajun fan, I don't know this this thread and OP turned into a shite on UL thread. RP3 is more representative of the tiger fan west of the basin. He embodies the contingent of LSU fans on CCB that were all in on Napier.
OP should do himself a favor and abandon local sports radio in Lafayette. There are no good options anymore with Ben Love gone.

You say that, but I was a very young kid in the 80’s then the 90’s. It was exciting to attend pretty much any sport at USL. Uncle played football there, got to see Farve, Ok state played at Cajun field, Bama, just some great players and big schools played at Cajun field. I remember going to a basketball game against Uno and 10k being in the Cajun Dome. I ended up going out of state for school, and missed the whole name change thing. I always thought just the name Ragin Cajuns was an awsome name. It was known, by a lot of people. Then they went to the pepper thing as a mascot was weird. With the amount of talent in that area, no reason they couldn’t be no2 in the state in athletics. The whole name change thing kind of lost some people I guess..
