coordinator as their head coach, rather than someone with true head coaching experience.

UF is rolling the dice with Napier.

USC has thrown some weight and demanded a proven winner.

Lets see what Woody can do, but its just very different paths by four traditionally strong schools with plenty of money.

A defensive coordinator.

OU understands what they're up against.

Look at Oklahoma's hires the last 40 years. Outside of Schnellenberger, it's almost always been coordinators

The more I hear about this 'proven winner' the less attractive he sounds. As it turns out, Woodward not only didn't want LR, he actively avoided him. According to the A&M guys who knew Woodward from his Aggie days, they indicate Woodward thought LR was soft and not all he was cracked up to be. The fact that LR didn't want to be in the SEC (with OU or LSU), speaks volumes.

OU had to swing a Hail Mary with little warning, and I think this was a good move for them. Why not? Worst case scenario, their defense will suck less when they join the league.

USC has thrown some weight and landed a coach with an 0-3 record in the CFP who is afraid of the SEC since all 3 of the aforementioned losses came to 3 separate SEC schools
