O's contract runs through Nov 30...but LSU can terminate in writing without cause...

He has a temporary services contract. That has nothing to do with the new hire. He's already been fired as the coach.

Because I thought you could only have so many people during the dead time for recruiting?
Nov 28th was when dead period started thru Dec 12th I believe.
You can't have 2 head coaches at the same time.
If O contract does indeed end tommorrow the 30th, Wednesday announcement would make sense.
Technically then we wouldn't have a head coach

Someone mentioned that O isn't coaching the bowl game bc we already have the new coach signed. The services agreement should clarify if ED was supposed to coach a bowl game or if he was supposed to step aside as soon as the Tx AM game was over (I guess no one believed we would be bowl eligible).

That's bullshite. Ed has already been fired and announced publicly he was done.
None of that contract lingo is keeping us from making the hire.
If that were the case, they could announce a hire and make it effective wednesday.

O was never going to coach the bowl game, despite what he might have said in the press conference when his firing was announced.
LSU could have extended the agreement to have him coach it...but obviously did not.

Ed's contract is irrelevant, they can announce a new coach anytime.

Bruh I was just saying the timing is right if that is the case.
Funny JV said Wednesday when on radio.
Why Wednesday,that's the only logical explanation if that is the case.
