Yeah he could leave in a few years (after several NCs), but there’s no proven coach for the next decade or more to be had. You have to take your chances with a guaranteed winner in the short term and bet on hiring someone for the future later when the field isn’t as crowded.

Woody wants somebody with a squeaky clean record. The Zach Smith thing eliminates him, imo

Or he sees an opportunity to turn around the program and someone’s image. Winning generally cures all ills. Not outside the realm of possibility. Urban is in over his head in the NFL.

I’m more concerned about the Aaron Hernandez thing

I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d take it and it would make sense for both sides. It’s just kinda like making a deal with the devil

With the talent in LA, Urban’s recruiting and an aging saban., Urban could build a monster here

Good point but I'll go sooner than that. How about what he did last month? I'd say that would be a deal breaker as well.

I'd be shocked if Scott Woodward hired Urban Meyer considering everything the University is going through currently thanks to our last 2 head football coaches.

Regardless of what we make think of him, Urban Meyer is one of the greatest coaches in the history of college football. He’s a consistent national title contender every year when he’s coaching. There is no comparison between Mullen, chip, or even a combination of the two.

If we could get Meyer for 6 years, I'd be happy as hell. I won't speculate on year one, but by 2023 I'd bank on us being title contenders. A lot of kids would want to transfer here if we got him too. One of the most notable names in college football over the past 15 years.

That's if he wants to leave, and the admins at LSU aren't pussies.

I see more buyouts in your future... very large ones.

It’s no reflection on his coaching ability, but because of this it isn’t happening, IMO.

Had this not happened who knows.

When you consider urban’s recent off the field debacle he makes the least sense, imo

Only college job Urban potentially comes back for is Notre Dame
