As a Florida fan, I’m not sold on the hire. What specifically stands out to you guys that he’s a good hire for Florida? Why did you LSU guys like about him?

They didn’t. That’s why he wasn’t named head coach at LSU.

Seems like a solid coach but never done it at a big program. He's going to be boom or bust for you guys.

Another one of those Saban disciples that always work out. Big on the process and stuff. He did well at ULL though.

He worked under Nick Saban and supposedly other coaches have said he’s the real deal. His coaching at ULL kind of speaks for itself. The ultimate question is can he translate that success that he did at a really small school to a large school. Time will tell if we fricked up or not by not taking him. I choose to believe he’ll be mediocre at the big big level.

A large percentage of the fans weren't sold on him. He built a very solid program at a Sun Belt school. Some guys like him have done very well when taking the helm at much bigger football schools, most have not.

There was plenty of talk of him being very much like Saban in his approach to program building. He is very detail-oriented and is a good recruiter.

He took over a program that had only reached 9 wins when we were cheating our asses off with a coach who was letting players frick his wife and went from: 7-7 to 11-3, 10-1, and 11-1 (with a CCG left). No off the field scandals. Players love him. Previous high level recruiting success in the SEC. Our recruiting classes went from a bunch of 2 stars with the occasional 3 or 4 star that barely qualified because we paid someone to take his ACT to classes full of 3 stars. Teams play disciplined football, are very good in close games, and make great adjustments. Hires a really good staff. He's described as being super organized and meticulous in routines. Runs a very similar program to Alabama as far as the program processes, to organizing practice, defining roles for coaches, players, etc.

He basically drug our shitty team into the 21st century and did it within a year and none of our players have raped or murdered anybody.

He is a good recruiter and coach what else do you want? Also your AD didn't dick around and signed him right away so he can hit the recruiting trail before ESD and probably poach some kids out of LA while we are sitting around with our dicks in our hands waiting for a coach.

Like I said before he's a wildcard, but he's got a tremendous pedigree...Everybody in the sport that talks about him (Which is the people that matter) gushes and raves about how prepared and detail oriented (yes, Saban like) he is, that he just has "it"...He's a gamble, but he has a higher ceiling than any other coach that was realistically on the market.
