It would go a long way for Woodward to make a statement

And update the fanbase on his progress.
Right now I think it's a general consensus that this search has taken a turn that he was not prepared for from a PR perspective. He needs to get train back on the tracks before perception becomes reality and his reputation takes a huge hit.

It appears he got strung along by Riley. This was the point where Alleva took his ball and went home to Coach O.
Let's hope Woodward is more competent than locking in on 1 and only 1 candiate and not have any legitimate backup plan when your 1A goes to hell.

Maybe just hire a coach when he settles on one.
I have no idea what he could say in a statement that does good but not harm.
