Because we weren't professionally interested??
I participate in interview panels where I work, and not everyone makes it to the interview stage. It's not rude. We have requirements for positions, and if resumes do not meet requirements, they are weeded out. We interview the ones that check the boxes of what we're looking for and then we determine more in the interview and see what the fit is like.
Scott Woodward is going to hire someone who fits the requirements he has for the position of HC at LSU. He's not going to be held to some message board ideal of who deserves a phone call.

I think a lot of LSU fans will question that unless this ends up being a home run hire for us. Napier is by all accounts a solid coach, and I wish him all the best.
This little scenario will end up being a little more kerosene on a great rivalry. One more wrinkle in the SEC’s big dysfunctional family.

Members of UL staff say different. They talked and showed interest in a lot of coaches. Napier was one of them. That’s how you run a coaching search. We now know that Napier is off the table. Who is still in the table???? Who knows….
