If Riliey had decided not to take job why not announce it firmly before game like Miles did Michigan years back. BIG 12 title game and playoff spot on the line why not come out and leave no doubt in your players' minds. If I were an OU fan I'd be pissed he didn't do this to give my team the best chance to win.

He was most likely considering it and then emotions of the letdown made the decision for him.

Because maybe he didn’t have an offer?

He probably did tell his players. He didn’t owe it to the media or fans. It was all made up shite anyway.

Maybe he did tell the team before the game. You don’t have to get in front of a camera to do that

The OU side has been pretty clear for weeks he wasn’t going.

No the legit insiders have been saying he’s not leaving. Message boards are message boards. Y’all got over your skis thinking he was coming when in reality he wasnt. Spin it however you like

Yeah, I’ve seen multiple idiots from the OU side claiming this was a massive ploy by Riley to help in recruiting along with better resources for the program. If anything this entire situation has hurt them. There was obvious interest in leaving, nobody believes he wasn’t ever not considering it, his non denial a couple weeks ago and then waiting till after a bad loss in a game where his offense got exposed in the 2nd half by a far more physical team for the 2nd time this year just doesn’t make sense or help them at all.

Only Riley to lsu info I saw came from this board. Everywhere else he was not coming. Delusional fanbase willing to believe anything. Our local media is horrible at getting scoop. It’s your own fault if you fell into the garbage trap that is tigerdroppings. This place is full of stupid. Don’t trust it.

Just Maybe everyone else knew what was really going on. Everyone except 3 message board members were saying he’s staying. Not going to LSU. No truth to the rumors. Maybe, just maybe, they all knew the truth. We just wanted to believe he would see this as the job we want it to be. I was hopeful for that reason but he isn’t worth 12+ mil as a coach.

Yep. I think something happened in that locker room.
I think he is the real deal. And frankly looking at 85 young men torn by a gut wrenching loss. That you recruited ……. Makes you think. It would be hard to do that. Maybe he changes his mind again when he has some time away from those young men. And some quiet time with his wife. But I am going to say I admire him if that is what happened.

You couldn’t possibly be more wrong.

Yes, all part of a masterful plan that brought doubt in his longevity at OU and a distraction during a potential championship run. Absolutely brilliant strategy by Riley and OU.

And yet he will get nothing from Oklahoma for assistants or upgrades to facilities. He will continue to lose big games until joining the SEC where Oklahoma will be a 4 to 5 loss team per year at best.
Can’t wait.
Can’t wait.

The sad thing is, their fans believe this. They think this is somehow going to help them. Lol

Nothing to spin from me. I don't like mediocre coaches like Riley and was beyond excited to here what he said
