I've seen many posts about how Lee will start with Shepard coming in RP style next year. My question is, where does that put JJ? Why shouldn't JJ get the nod? etc.

I am not familiar with Sheppard and his comparison to JJ and why JJ has been left out of a lot of conversation.

Next 2 yrs: Lee/JJ
then
JJ/RS
and then
RS/<next big name QB>

Miles = Best guy plays!

Every spring there will be a battle at every position.

Not enough rock to go around. If Lee is the main guy, Shephard is the better change of pace guy.

Life is tough. Maybe he should talk to Flynn about staying patient and getting his degree while he waits his turn.

Hey guys; let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I'm sure both JJ and RS will get their fair share of snaps.

When next season starts, JJ will be lucky to have gotten 30 snaps but will have a year in the offense. RS will have to live up to the hype to displace him.

You would think with J.Lee and JJ they would red shirt RS. I remember RP coming to LSU and everyone was screaming for him to be JRs back up if not the starter. Well what happened? RP was red shirted.

Look for the same thing to happen to RS. No matter how big of a boner the rant gets for him.

If JJ or the kid from MS lives up to their hype, I have a feeling that Sheppard may become a running back. I think he is a much better runner than a passer. Look at his high school stats this week./ I think DD has them in his sunday blog.

What are you, nuts? We have plenty of great RBs and more coming in.

If you want a preview of what Shep will be, look at Pryor at OSU. By most accounts, experts put Shep at or ahead of Pryor at the same point in their senior years. The kid is a playmaker and will defintely be playing QB. He's working with ex NFL QBs to improve his technique.

Where does that leave JJ? Who knows. If JJ proves he's the best QB, he'll play a lot. If not, he won't. Pretty simple.

Maybe RS wont be a QB, there, I said it, or at least not in his first couple years. Maybe he'll be that change of pace guy his fresh and soph years and come in to run the ball from the QB position, and throw a couple passes every once in awhile.

RS has been quoted saying he wants to play his freshman year, nomatter what position. Crowton will be able to use him in so many ways, WR, QB, RB-and have him throw or run options out of those positions. Similar to how Mizzou used Brad Smith or UGA Quincey Carter.

Too many assumptions about RS. Yes, he will likely be great, but he has a brand new NC-caliber offense to run. It will take a little time to develop him. Pryor wouldn't be starting if OSU wasn't laying eggs. Hopefully, JL and JJ will be running a great, productive offense. If they don't, then RS will get plenty of playing time. Even if he moves to WR, he'll still have to deal with TT, the Mitchells, and possibly Lafell (if he returns).

When was Quincy Carter ever used like that? Are you talking about Hines Ward?

If I'm Les and Crowton, and if RS is all that they say he is, then I would use him as a Percy Harvin/Darrin McFadden type player. Put in the Wild Tiger formation, have him passing off of the end-around type handoffs, etc. As talented as JL looks to be, with the receivers we have and the RB's coming in, I can see a varied offense in which RS is in on every play at one position or another.

he will come in in freshman year and be in the role of playmaker, kinda like harvin . JL will start and JJ will back him up .i see this for his first couple
of years. but it would make more sense to redshirt
him. i guess we'll see. he is going to be great wherever they use him

not even close...go look at sheps stats at QB...many guys play QB in high school then switch positions in college...i doubt he'll play QB...my guess is receiver..with his moves and size hes a WR in the making...unless he can learn to pass the ball like pryor hes not on his level at QB

He needs to learn to be a QB who can run rather than a runner who can throw

nothing wrong with RP but the attitude, if shep is that good then its a good pickup, because he doesn't come with the baggage.
