Week 6 AP Poll Updated Schedule

Posted by mactiger on 10/3/11 at 12:16 pm
I dont post much but figured this is a good change of pace.... This is to reflect the current rankings and remaining schedule. Seven games left and 4 teams in the top 17.... Its going to be fun to watch! I think the Tigers play best against big opponents.

#9 Oregon 40-27 WIN
NR Northwestern State 49-3 WIN
NR Mississippi State 19-6 WIN
#16 West Virginia 47-21 WIN
NR Kentucky 35-7 WIN
#17 Florida
NR Tennessee
#15 Auburn
#2 Alabama
NR Western Kentucky
NR Ole Miss
#10 Arkansas
There is also another issue with this kid. He is a freshman in school this year but a junior in football. That means he is going to need to jump three grades in one year to go to college......

Safety Position

Posted by mactiger on 10/20/09 at 6:03 pm
Next years breakdown and class:

Chad Jones SR.
Brandon Taylor JR.

Karnell Hatcher JR.
Craig Loston FR.
Stefoin Francois JR.
Ron Brooks JR. also plays corner
Josh Johns FR.
Rocky Duplessis FR.

Commits
Sam Gibson FR.
Ronnie Vinson FR.
Eric Reid FR.
Tharold Simon FR.

That will give us a total of 7 freshman safeties next year. I just think it will be interesting to see how it plays out. There will be no shortage of young talent at this position.

Couldnt agree more with all of this.

Also, when you have the same players making MENTAL (offsides) mistakes....... why isnt he sitting on the bench?
Harper on the blown coverage again........

Keep in simple

Why doesnt anyone want to huddle up, call a play and execute the damn thing. Last night was one of the worst tempos I have ever seen an offense have. The coaches did a horrible job giving the kids the best chance to be successful. It seems to me that a new offensive line and young quarterback would benefit from getting to the line of scrimmage with 15 to 20 seconds left on the clock.

Didnt attack, missed tackles, horrible in space.......... A lot to improve on.
Don't leave out Destrehan, just reloading again....... The talent seems to be endless now. It's funny how teams have stretches of talent like this.

Central won last week with ZERO offense. I dont think the game is even close. Acadiana will win easy!

Without crying, I hope your wrong but the writing is on the wall. Coker even recruited well.

re: Draft

Posted by mactiger on 10/13/08 at 10:39 am to
Watch the games my man! Stinchcomb has played great so far this year. I think the O-line is just fine. Plus, there is depth there. Safety and young LB are where there needs to be improvement, but Safety is by far the NUMERO UNO choice!

what would the saints give in return? Draft picks from 2010?

Destrehan vs. Ehret

Posted by mactiger on 10/3/08 at 3:33 pm
Should be a good matchup tonight between two of the best defenses in the state. Should be a good game. If Destrehan's quarterback Smothers plays well and they are able to run the ball (have not been able to do effeciantly yet this year), the Wildcats should come out on top. But, Ehret has tremendous talent on offense as well. If Ehret plays disciplined football they could leave Destrehan undefeated on the season.

KEY Matchups:

Ehrets athletic air attack vs. Destrehans secondary let by Antonio Parker

Destrehans big experienced O-line vs. Ehrets physical and athletic front seven.

re: Rufus Porter

Watch him play almost every week. Dont think he gets an offer from the SEC unless maybe Arkansas offers. They always seem to offer some kids that others dont. That being said, they do a great job of turning those guys into SEC guys.
Miles = Best guy plays!

Every spring there will be a battle at every position.

Yes, that USC team would be hard to beat! But, I think LSU, USC and Ohio State would feild the best three teams.
