I'm interested to see how accurate their new estimates are. Keep us posted if you will.
A buddy mine is close friends with a SpaceX Engineer and was out drinking with him a couple weeks ago. Since he knows how much I’m waiting on this option, he questioned him a bit about it. The guy said the date estimates since the update are highly accurate and they fully expect to fulfill those dates or sooner.
I was very happy to hear that, and am anticipating my February date. Hopefully they can meet that January date. Would be good news for the rest of us.

Thanks for that. I can't wait to give Centurytel back their 6Mb internet!

Yes, hopefully my January date holds true.
I'll then have 3 internet providers at my office, with 2 of those being mobile (once I can travel with the starlink)
I have HUGE plans for these things if they work as advertised. I'll be able to sell more than Elon himself.

January 2022 also. I got the email today that my Starlink kit is ready. Outside of Zachary, LA.
Now to see how long it takes to process the order and ship it.

When did you sign up?
Posted on 1/9/22 at 11:07 am to LSUtigerME
My app has gone to a "start setup" page but my account hasn't updated to ready yet. Still says Jan though.
Hopefully I can get it delivered and running by the 22nd. We have a disater expo at church I'd love to test it at.

What would be the point if this is you already have a high speed connection?
Eventually, it will be portable.
I have BIG plans for re/up selling the heck out of them once that happens.

There's not a chance in hell that that box would have even hit the floor before I had it opened and installed if that was me yesterday.

Ok..initial impressions...
I didnt do much research as I usually do when I get these types of things, so some of this may already be common knowledge
1. Its the version 2, which is the rectangle dish. Does not come with a wired ethernet jack. So all tests are from a wireless device. Ive already ordered the ethernet jack accessory so I can put it in bridge mode and use my own Orbi router and wired devices.
2. The pole on which the dish sits is 1.5 inches in diameter. I have an old directv mount on my roof which has a 2 inch diameter. They also sell a mounting adapter which I have ordered as well. Once I get it in Ill mount it permanently. For today though, I used the stand it came with and put the dish on the ground in the yard.
3. When turned on (Im in Terrebonne Parish) the dish essentially looks straight up. I guess that makes sense bc its a bunch of little satellites and it should connect to the nearest ones. However you do need a decent diameter of vertical clearance for an unobstructed view. Ive got about 20 feet in diameter. Once I permanently mount it on the roof, this should be a non issue
4 Speeds: Internet to Starlink Router averaging around 200Mbs down,30Mbps up, but have seen it as high as 290Mbps. Latency is around 30ms.
Wireless speeds (from Starlink router to wireless device) about 40Mbps down, 10Mbps up. Latency around 50ms.
Again this is with it on the ground and with no hardwire connectiion. Ill keep you guys posted.
