Friendsgiving is the dumbest fricking term I've ever heard of.
The only people I've ever heard of doing it in real life are social outcasts who don't want to visit relatives for the holiday.

People have "friendsgiving" on days other than Thursday. It's not typically a replacement for actual Thanksgiving with family.

Some people work and can’t get together with family. Some can’t afford to travel. Some people come from toxic and abusive environments that are dangerous or unhealthy to revisit. I’m glad they have folks nearby so they don’t spend the holiday alone.

I'm not dropping $2K twice in 5 weeks to fly the family across the country, especially when at least one of them only gets a couple of days anyway and Mrs. Zwin's family is in California.
Not everybody fits in the same mold. Kinda thought we were all about respecting that.

You do realize a lot of people have a separate gathering in addition to the one with the family? I'll be doing Thanksgiving with friends this year out of necessity.
