Entry into Czechia wasn’t hard. Just filled out the locator form previously. Nobody even asked for it. Must’ve been an online thing.

Selected scenes from Prague. The Christmas markets are closed across the country. Seems very festive overall despite that. Very vibrant. Seems less restrictive than Germany. Proof of vaccination is required to enter any restaurant. Masks are worn inside. Not that onerous at all. Not sure how stringently it’s enforced vs. Germany either.

The nice part of Switzerland last week was no mask indoors if you passed the covid vaccine pass, I know that is changing though.

@Nole Man
Did you drink the required number of liters of Pilsner when you were in Prague?

Of course. Walking 10 miles or more a day. Very cold. My drink of choice is Grog when out and about! Surprised how many people are here. Restaurants we’ve been to usually needed reservations. Walked into one last night though. I love the Moravian Pinot Noirs at dinner here. Note that place didn’t ask for proof of vaccination. Servers didn’t wear masks. We had to at concert we went to last night though. Updated pictures in the link above.
Off to Ceský Krumlov. EDIT: Beautiful city. Much smaller crowds. Tourism is off per restaurants due to Covid. They really appreciate the business. Some ask for cards in restaurants. Never in stores. Rarely see masks requirements.

As of now we are still scheduled to fly out to France in 2 weeks. I’m closely watching the expected travel restrictions Biden is supposed to be unveiling tomorrow as well as what they are doing in France. We have until next weekend to cancel the trip without much hoopla or loss.
Just heard from our friends in France. They are going completely work from home next week and more travel restrictions are expected Monday. Looks like our trip is off.

Honestly depends on your risk tolerance and how much you wanna actually travel. We’ve been in Europe two weeks and currently in Czechia and having a blast.
My daughter’s best friend is in Paris right now and there aren’t that many restrictions. If you don’t want to have a mask on periodically and present a vaccine card then yeah it’s a hassle. Things change daily of course.

Anyone got input on Italy this spring? Got flight credits that need to get used, just wondering what I'll have to do to get over there. Rome and Florence.

Thanks for the travel reports!

If you don’t have a card sanitare, you can’t go to the movies.
Basic social activities are forbidden.

I think it’s been clear from the start that the restrictions you are seeing over here are for those that are not vaccinated. If you are vaccinated and have your card it is not really a big deal at all. I’m not really seeing any bars card people. And restaurants probably 75% of the time. And remember countries are also taking proof of a negative PCR test in many situations if they do at all. Depends on the country. It is obviously the most dire restrictions are in countries like Austria where you can’t go. I felt that Germany was pretty restrictive. Czechia not that much at all unless you’re in Prague. They don’t really care if I have the EU card or not. The American card works just fine.
And as noted my daughter’s friend just texted her from Paris last night. Things are “super chill”. Not that many restrictions. This is how travel in Europe will look like for at least the next year in my estimation. People can decide if they want that or not. Minor inconvenience vs. doing nothing in fear or protesting oppression. If not.. Just more pivo for me!
EDIT: My daughter’s friend just texted her from Paris. Christmas markets are open very little issues with accessing anything. Attached is a picture.

Flying to London Friday night for a friend's wedding on the 17th. Have a test Thursday before friday flight and another test when I get there, and another before coming back.
It's one of my best friends from college so I'm going. I had to cancel my Scotland piece of it because I wasn't sure how quick my results would come back from the test when getting there (supposed to quarantine until negative test). Now doing London for 3 days, then Liverpool for 2 and London for another 3 before flying home on the 19th.
Any tips are appreciated but I figure London is a huge city so wear a mask and it will be what it is. At least they speak english

I don’t have any current experience there but I did travel with some Brits this week. They are non-EU now but they have their own vaccine card. For Americans just take what you have and you’ll be fine. I think like everywhere in Europe mask enforcement is going to be variable. The main issue is getting over there and coming back into the States. Just read the current State Department’s rules and guidelines and you’ll be fine. Pain in the arse but it is what it is. You’re going to have a great time!
PS: CVS turned around the PCR test in less than 24 hours! Simple registration and process.

Poland is open for business!
As an EU country there were zero requirements to entry from Czechia. The hotel asked for our vaccination card but they told us that they are allowed to have 50% non-vaccinated guests. The restaurant we went to did not ask for our vaccination card. Most people in the restaurant did not wear masks. The servers did.
Kraków is very vibrant. Christmas markets are open. Will share some selected pictures.
Vodka will be the drink of choice in case you’re wondering!

Yea I have a scheduled one on Thursday morning supposed to get it back by midnight that night.
Once I get to London I am doing a same day test which is again supposed to be done by midnight on Saturday when I get in. Then I think there's one more test before I leave but I'll schedule that when I get there and see what's going on
I'm excited for sure
