Polaris Ranger not starting

I’ve got a 2012 Ranger 500 with starting problem. Most times it won’t attempt to start but if you keep trying it will randomly decide to turn over and runs great. When you turn it off it takes many attempts to crank it again. After turning key off there is a ticking sound.
Dash panel lights up fine and it cranks strong when it decides to, so I don’t think battery is bad.
There’s a big square 4 prong Fuel/Ignition fuse in the panel, but I can’t tell if it’s bad.
Anyone have any idea what it could be? Thanks

I haven't worked on one but Yamahas have a real shite starter solenoid. I would check that until someone more knowledgeable with this brand can help. I converted my grizzly to a solenoid from a Ford.

Starter solenoid like above stated. If you’re in a bind, you can tap on the solenoid with a wrench or grab the nut on the solenoid with a pair of Pliers. Pretty common issue in side by sides/mud engines.

+another for starter solenoid. Luckily, easy to diagnose and they are cheap.
The one on my 2016 900 went bad last year. I went to my local Orielly's and just bought a starter solenoid for an older ford vehicle. It was around 20 bucks IIRC.
Hell, it actually was the same size and everything so it fit perfectly in the same mount.

There is also a brake pressure switch on some Ranger models that cause cranking issues. Have an 800 that acts up sometimes

The brake is pretty hard to press and I thought that may be part of the problem. Still going to put a new solenoid on and see what happens.
This board is great for things like this. I’m not a mechanic and don’t like taking it to a shop either. I can install a solenoid though.
Thanks for the help!

I have a 900 that had the same problem, it would crank and crank and sometimes start. Take the dash off and see if the key switch is cracked. I taped mine back together and it started every time. Then I ordered a new key switch.
