Its the latter.

This cannot possibly be true…. Compare Huntington HS then vs. now. Byrd masks the animals from the “neighborhoods” with the Magnet kids.

Caddo Parsih Schools may possibly be the most inept organization on the planet.

His wife was from there. Or rather, her family lived there. She was pretty much grown and on her own when they moved but she was visiting when she and EVH met after a concert at Hirsch.

I definitely don't go out that much anymore.

But when we do, its never Superiors or the casinos

And I can't remember the last time either have even been suggested.

But hey, you lived here in the 90s and you know my friends better than me, so

When I retired I first moved to the University Terrace to take care of my in laws.
Never really thought it as being a great area or a bad area.
Having the Wal-mart there at Youree drive and Bert Kouns along with the hospital right there on Millicent Way was nice.

Traffic down Bert Kouns Industrial loop was aggravating closer to the car dealers all the way back to the Home Depot by I-49.

I'm born and rasied in NOLA and currently live in Shreveport. I get all the time..."omg why??? Don't you wanna come back...live ANYWHERE ELSE??"

Honestly, no. Shreveport is an easy place to live once you learn it. I live in far south Shreveport (Ellerbe Park). It's very safe, cost of living is cheap, there are plenty of upscale restaurants, good stores and family events out in my area. There's concerts under the bridge and bar crawls occasionally when we want that, 2 excellent breweries, a damn solid local restaurant scene, nothing is ever more the 15 minutes away, there's no traffic..I could go on.

Yes, there are a lot of really shitty parts, but their easy to avoid. It's easy to shite on, but it's also got a lot to love if you take some time to really find it. Really think our roots are down here for the long haul

Bunch of necks that like the cowboys.

Grown and raised there. If you are part of the "In" crowd in shreveport it can be a fun place to live imo.. However your options are limited on what to do. Also drug abuse it rampant. Know plenty of mutuals who have OD'd. And holy shite the 25-35 crowd is literally all coke fiends.. You can basically go in any bar and find someone hitting a bump.

Only reason I ever hit the Casinos was to see a couple of bands. I suck at Gambling.

But, if you know anyone who is in the Chamber, they have gone to mixers at Superiors.

You do know people who have visited the Casinos and Superior. Everyone I Shreveport does.

North Bossier > Shreveport. By a mile.

Shreveport is dying, and its not slow. Bossier probably will follow suit soon enough.

Its always been this way. Shreve Square should have installed a ski jump in the 80's with so much white powder.

Yep, that Red River keeps Bossier folks from crossing over to Shreveport, I guess.
